2. In terms of shelf life, stainless steel is not only composed of carbon, but also more than 12.5 chromium. In oxidizing and corrosion-resistant media, chromium can quickly generate a dense passivation film on the surface of the steel to prevent the metal matrix from being destroyed. When the chromium content is above 12.5%, a dense and stable passivation film is formed, and the anti-rust properties undergo a leap-forward consolidation, and the corrosion resistance is greatly enhanced. This is why the chromium content in stainless steel must be more than 12%. The reason. The increase in shelf life can greatly reduce cost investment and further increase profits.
